Estribos Polo Belts

Published: Thu May 17 2012

Those of you who are passionate about Argentinian polo will no doubt be familiar with Estribos and their leather belts. Estribos belts are based on a traditional native pattern known as Guarda Pampas, which is inspired by the peaks and troughs of the Andes Mountains. Due to their bright colours and interesting embroidered pattern, these belts were quickly adopted by the fast-paced world of Polo, and now adorn the whites of petiseros (that’s a horse-trainer in case you were wondering) from Patagonia to Palermo. Meaning ‘stirrups’ in Spanish, Estribos have been plying their leathery trade for over 120 years, so when it comes to belts, they certainly know what they’re doing. And like they say on their website, “You wouldn’t buy sushi from a burger joint.”
