The Levi's Gremlin

Published: Tue Jul 03 2012

Following on from our post about the world’s biggest Red Wing boots, here’s another marketing oddity, this time in the shape of a fairly hot collaboration with Levi’s and American Motors Corporation. Launched in 1973, the Levi’s Gremlin had all the fairly dull features of the AMC Gremlin, but with the added work-wear tinge of Levi’s branded denim trim, complete with copper rivets, orange stitching and red tabs. We’re not really sure what this was all for (maybe so you didn’t have to wear jeans when driving?), but they seemed to have been fairly popular, and none other than George W. Bush owned one back in his care-free college days.
